Hi there!
I’m Raven Selden, a third-year dental student at the UNC Adams School of Dentistry, and I’m beyond excited and deeply honored to step into the role of your National President-Elect for the upcoming year (2023-24) within the Student National Dental Association (SNDA).
Originally hailing from the vibrant city of Charlotte, NC, I made my way to UNC Chapel Hill for my undergraduate degree, where I also became a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. It was during these years that my fascination with dentistry really took hold. Fast forward to 2023, and I’ve had the privilege of continuing my academic journey as a
double TarHeel, pursuing dental school at UNC.
When I think about SNDA, the first word that springs to mind is “family.” My journey with SNDA started during my undergrad years, when I joined USNDA with an eagerness to connect with fellow minority students on the dental school path. Little did I know, this journey would lead me to one of my most cherished organizations in both my undergraduate
and now graduate life.
Stepping into the role of President-Elect, I am truly excited about the adventure ahead. Working alongside this exceptional executive board, I’m here to learn, grow, and wholeheartedly support Brandon, our current president, as he brings his strategic vision to life. It’s my goal to not only carry forward the amazing work that SNDA has already accomplished but to also take it to new heights.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for entrusting me with the opportunity to serve as your President-Elect and, soon enough, your president. I can’t wait to dive into the incredible journey that awaits us. Let’s do this, SNDA family! 🌟
