The Student National Dental Association (SNDA) has established a scholarship in the of Dr. Alison Riddle- Fletcher, the 90th President of the National Dental Association. Dr. Riddle- Fletcher received her degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery from Howard University in 1987. Prior to her being elected to President of the NDA, Dr. Riddle- Fletcher served as the NDA’s president- elect, vice president, the speaker of the House of Delegates, and parliamentarian. She received various community service awards for her work including the Mayor’s Citation for Service and Conscientious Dentist Certificate for her service with the Baltimore City Public Health Department.

Dr. Alison P. Riddle-Fletcher was an outstanding leader and oral health provider. She has left behind a legacy of service, strength, and commitment not just to the field of oral health and dentistry but also to the National Dental Association. Dr. Alison P. Riddle- Fletcher was an outstanding leader and oral health provider and we hope to commemorate her life through this scholarship.


This scholarship is open to all SNDA members who are in their 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of dental school. Scholarship applicants should be in good academic standing, show support for the initiatives and ideals of SNDA, and demonstrated leadership within SNDA either on the local or national level.
