The Student National Dental Association (SNDA) has established a scholarship in the name of Dr. Darryl A. Hawkins, a 1989 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University College of Dental Medicine and a very active member of the SNDA. Dr. Hawkins died suddenly at the age of 27 from a cardiac arrhythmia on January 29, 1990 while jogging near his home in Marietta, Georgia. As a member of SNDA, he served as Director of Regional Coordinators for the year 1988-1989. Dr. Hawkins was a leader in the SNDA and we hope to commemorate his life through this scholarship.
SNDA is pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2017-2018 Darryl Hawkins Scholarship. Two (2) $500 recipients will be awarded scholarships. Awards will be announced at the National Convention in Orlando,
This scholarship is open to all SNDA members who are currently in their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of dental school. Scholarship applicants should be in good academic standing, and show support for the initiatives and ideals of SNDA.
Application Deadline: July 1, 2018
