SNDA Holiday Service Project:
The Student National Dental Association (SNDA) is pleased to announce its 4th annual national
holiday service project. We are asking all chapters to participate in a Women’s Essentials drive
(packs of panties, boxes of tampons, and pads). Among industrialized nations, the United States
has the largest number of homeless women. Up to 92% of homeless women have experienced
severe physical or sexual assault at some point in their lives. And if matters could not get worse,
most shelters are not given government funding to pay for sanitary items, which are essential for
women’s health. Many of these women are faced with the choice of buying a box of tampons
($7+) or buying a meal. SNDA wants to address this need by inviting chapters around the
country to donate to sanitary products to the organization of their choice. Some examples include
a local women’s shelter or the Red Cross. If you are looking for a place to donate this link may
be helpful: https://www.domesticshelters.org/
Please register your chapter to participate in the drive by November 1st via the form below:
Each chapter will collect sanitary items according to the specifications of a local organization of
their choosing from the dates of November 5th – December 14th.
After you have finished collecting the items, please have the form below signed by the local
manager or coordinator of the donation site and a picture of the form sent to
The deadline for the donation documentation form is January 18th. No forms will be accepted
after this date!
Lastly, the chapter that donate the most items will receive points towards the Chapter of the Year
award, as follows:
1st Place – 15 points
2nd Place – 10 points
3rd Place – 8 points
*all participating chapters that do not place will receive 5 points.
